This publication presents the methodology and results of the satellite account on culture in Catalonia 2005. The reference used to produce the satellite account were the results of the Input-Output Tables of Catalonia 2001 in order to provide better knowledge of the economic weight of cultural activities with respect to other economic activities and also reveal flows of financing and the dimensions of the consumption of cultural good and services.

The book also includes the following information:

• Tables showing the current and investment expenditure on cultural goods and services
• Tables showing the production, intermediate consumption and value added of the main cultural sectors
• Tables showing the total direct and indirect effects of expenditure aggregated to production, gross value added, employment, purchases outside of the catalan economy and the main branches of activity
• Tables showing employment in the cultural sector
