This publication contains lists of the different territorial sector divisions for Catalonia on January 1, 2013. The lists of the different territorial levels of the territorial sector divisions appear in alphabetical and hierarchical order; grouping the lower levels with the respective higher levels, thus facilitating searches for different territorial units.

The territorial divisions presented are health (health regions, health sectors and basic health areas), education (territorial education services and municipalities they group), police (police regions, basic police areas and municipalities they group), mountain (mountain counties, mountain zones and municipalities they group), agriculture (territorial agriculture services and county agriculture offices), geotourism (tourism regions and counties they group), judicial (judicial districts and municipalities they group) and postal (postal territories). Lists are presented of the territorial administrative units of Catalonia (counties, provinces and municipalities), as well as the territorial planning areas of the General Territorial Plan for Catalonia, for purposes of comparison. the General territorial plan for Catalonia, for purposes of comparison.

As well as listing the identification codes and their corresponding names, this publication also includes an explanation of the reasons for each of the territorial divisions, the definition of the different territorial units, the motives for establishing them, the legal justification, the body responsible for establishing them, the codification system, the normalisation of names and the correspondences with other territorial areas.

This publication forms part of the series "Codis territorials sectorials de Catalunya". The previous publication in this series was Codis territorials sectorials de Catalunya 2010, and so Codis territorials sectorials de Catalunya 2013 includes the modifications made from 2010 to 2012.
