This dossier analyses commuting for work reasons of the resident employed population and commuting for study reasons of the student population. Commuting refers to travel between one's place of residence and the place of work or the place of study.

The dossier presents the most important results on the population's commuting, classified by sex and the territorial area of residence, as well as the use of the different means of transport and the travel time. The statistical sources used are as follows:

• Statistics on Commuting for University Studies
• Statistics on Commuting for Non-University Studies

The census data on commuting for work correspond to 2011, while the data for students correspond to the academic years 2014-2015 (university students) and 2015-2016 (non-university students).
