This publication contains the main results of the Population projections (base 2018). It includes an executive summary and the general characteristics of the Projections. The figures and the composition of the population are analysed on the 2030 and 2060 horizons, as well as the county results on the 2030 horizon, and details the evolution of growth components (birth, mortality and migration).
The Population projections (2018 base) consist of 3 scenarios: low, medium and high. The medium scenario reflects what is considered the most probable pattern for the demographic growth and structure of Catalonia. The high and low scenarios offer the possibility of evaluating the highest and lowest populations that Catalonia could expect in the future.
