This volume contains statistical data on the distribution of the population aged two and over in Catalonia by municipalities, counties and provinces, according to sex and level of knowledge of the catalan language: comprehension, speaking, reading and writing. It also compiles data on the knowledge of aranese for municipalities in the Vall d'Aran. These statistics come from the 1991 Population Census and have been generated through a co-operation agreement between Idescat and INE.
